General
What does the g.a.s. app do?
The g.a.s. app enables customers to be able to purchase fuel in a contactless manner. Don't worry, you'll still get to see the great offers available in-store, as they'll be highlighted in the app.
You can use the app to gift and/or receive Fuel Shout! credit and track all your g.a.s. app
purchases. You can also use the app to scan your Everyday Rewards barcode in-store, if youprefer to pay using cash or eftpos card.
Who can get the app?
g.a.s. app is available on the New Zealand Apple App or Google Play Store.
Do I have to pay for the app?
No! g.a.s. app is free to download for customers based in New Zealand, from the Apple App or Google Play Store.
Minimum operating systems required to support the app:
iOS devices need to be on iOS 11.0 or later
Android devices need to be on Android 5.0 or later
Why should I enable notifications from g.a.s. app?
Push notifications will ensure that you're the first to know about any g.a.s. offers — particularly Everyday Rewards special bonus offer days.
Registration
How does it work?
It's easy as! Download the app and follow the instructions — all g.a.s. needs is your name,
mobile phone number and email address. You have the option to add your birthdate, if you
fancy a cheeky little birthday discount offer. You'll also need to agree to the terms of use and verify your account.
Be sure to link your Everyday Rewards account in the app, so you can see the fuel discount
offer of the day and how many points you are from reaching your next $15 voucher.
Why do I receive a text code every time I want to open the g.a.s. app?
This is an extra layer of protection for users. Do not, under any circumstances, share the text code with anyone as it designed for use on your device only.
Do I have to link a payment card to use the app?
If you want to use the Pay-in-car functionality, yes, the app does require a payment card to use the app.
However, you do not need to store a payment card in the app if you have only downloaded the app in order to scan your Everyday Rewards barcode in-store or to use Fuel Shout! credit gifted to you.
Can I load more than one payment method?
Yes, you can load up to 3 different payment cards. All can be given a nickname, to avoid any confusion and one can be set as the default payment card. For every transaction, you can choose to use one of your payment cards and/or Fuel Shout! credit, if you have any available.
Are my card details secure?
Yes, your card details are secured with our PCI-DDI compliant payment gateway provider,
Windcave. We use secure tokenisation to link your card to the app. Your full card number is never held within the app or visible to g.a.s.
How can I change my profile details?
Go to the main menu and select' My Account', from there you can edit your name and email address. You cannot alter your birthdate or mobile number once it has been added initially. If you have entered your birthdate incorrectly, click on the ‘Help’ section to ask for assistance to have it changed. If you change your mobile number, you will need to set up another account.
I want to remove the app. How do I do this?
We'll be sad to see you go! However, we understand circumstances can change. Simply delete the account from the My Account menu, and then delete the app from your device. If you would like us to remove you from its database, click on the 'Help'; section of the app, or email info@gas.kiwi
Everyday Rewards
I don't have an Everyday Rewards account. How can I get a discount?
Don’t worry, as soon as you’ve downloaded the g.a.s. app and completed registration, you'll be asked to Link your Everyday Rewards account. Agree to g.a.s.' Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, and then click on LINK MY ACCOUNT. Enter your email address - if Everyday Rewards recognises your email address, it will just be a matter of completing the registration.
If you are new to Everyday Rewards, you will be taken through the registration process and a virtual card will be loaded into the g.a.s. app within minutes! Note, if you also want a physical card, log in to your Everyday Rewards account, go to Account Settings and Order a Card.
When you use the Pay-in-car functionality in the app, discounts will be automatically applied to every fuel transaction (up to 50L). You can also go in-store to pay for your fuel and scan your Everyday Rewards barcode at the counter, just click on the ‘Scan my card’ button on the home screen. The latter option is helpful for those customers wanting to pay with cash or use theireftpos card.
How will I know what discount is available to me today?
Go to the home screen of the app, and the discount offer of the day will be visible to you. We may occasionally send you advance notice of upcoming special discounts too!
I already have an Everyday Rewards Card, but want to download the app.
No problem, when you download and register your details in the app, you'll be asked to Link your Everyday Rewards account. You'll be taken to the Everyday Rewards website and it will link your account to the g.a.s. app.
You'll see your barcode number in the app immediately, so you can start enjoying fuel savings and collecting points!
Can I accumulate Everyday Rewards fuel discounts?
No, the fuel discount offer of the day is automatically applied to today's transaction. However, for every litre of fuel purchased, you'll collect 1 point towards your next $15 voucher. Keep an eye out for Bonus Offers, which will help you get to 2,000 points to earn that $15 voucher even quicker!
Can I link my Everyday Rewards account with another user?
No, there is no need to do this. All fuel discounts offered will be instantly redeemed at the time of purchase. You can gift points to another user if you wish, go

Making a purchase
How can I make a fuel purchase using my mobile phone when I can't use my device on
the forecourt?
When you pull up at the pump and stop your engine, you can use the Pay-in-car functionality in your car, or you can use it in-store. Complete the transaction and put your phone away. You then have 3 minutes to start pumping the fuel into your car.
How do I purchase fuel using the g.a.s. app?
We've made it super simple.
1. Once on a participating g.a.s. forecourt, park at your chosen pump and select the orange
button 'Pay in car' at the bottom of the home screen in the app.
2. Select the pump number, fuel grade and amount.
3. If you have linked your Everyday Rewards account, your fuel discount will be
automatically applied to the transaction (up to 50 Litres).
4. Leave your phone in the car, fuel up and hang up the nozzle. Done and dusted!
How much fuel does the 'Fill' option allow?
The maximum amount of fuel that can be delivered is $250. Your bank will place a temporary hold on your funds to complete this transaction. If you wish to purchase more than $250 of fuel, select CUSTOM AMOUNT and enter an amount, up to $999.
Can I change my fuel purchase once selected?
No, you will need to go back to the home screen and start the Pay-in-car process again. Note, if you have gone as far as selecting your payment card in the Pay-in-car process, a temporary hold of funds for the amount selected will be placed on your payment card. When you re-start the process, another hold will be placed on your payment card.
How long does it take for my bank to give back any money pre-authorised that I didn't
use?
In most instances, it clears almost immediately after completing your fill. However, it can take up to 7 working days to clear. To avoid having this hold on your funds enter a pre-selected or custom fill amount. See above.
I asked for more fuel than what was pumped into my car. Why is that?
If your tank was partially full, you may not have been able to get the amount of fuel requested into your tank. Don't worry, you'll only be charged for the actual amount of fuel pumped.
Where do I find my transaction history?
Go to the main menu and select 'My g.a.s. transactions' and all your previous transactions are listed in date order. To view more detail, click on the transaction you want to view.
I need a receipt with my purchase. How do I get one?
All receipts are saved under 'My g.a.s. transactions' you can click on the link within the
transaction to email it to a nominated email address. To automatically email all future receipts, go to the Main Menu, 'Manage Notifications' and turn on 'Transactional Notifications'.
Can I purchase anything other than fuel through g.a.s. app?
No, you can purchase fuel only. That said, make sure you check out the g.a.s. Offers section in the app to see what in-store offers the g.a.s. service station you are visiting has for you!
Fuel Shout!
What is Fuel Shout!?
Fuel Shout! credit can be spent on your next purchase with the g.a.s. app. There are two ways to receive the credit:
1. As a gift from friends, family or colleagues, when they purchase Fuel Shout! credit for
you as an e-gift card. You can purchase, gift and redeem these e-gift cards, all within the
g.a.s. app.
2. As a gift from g.a.s., this will be a reward or prize for use when you purchase fuel at a
participating g.a.s. service station.
You can find the balance of your Fuel Shout! credit in the main menu under 'Fuel Shout!'
How do I buy Fuel Shout! credit to gift to others?
Go to the main menu and click on 'Fuel Shout!' and click on 'Gift a Friend'. Follow the screen prompts to gift credit. You'll need to know the recipient's mobile number; you can send a message and choose how much credit you would like to gift. Payment for the credit is taken from your linked payment card and can only be gifted to a New Zealand mobile number.
Note, Fuelshout! purchases are capped at $4,999 within a 365-day period.
Do I need to link a payment card to make a purchase using my gifted Fuel Shout! credit?
No, you do not need a payment card saved in the app when using a Fuel Shout! credit to make a purchase. If you have enough Fuel Shout! credit to cover the entirety of the purchase, it can be the sole form of payment for that purchase.
However, if you do not have enough credit to cover the cost of your purchase, you will need to add a payment card before the transaction can be authorised.
Note, Fuelshout! purchases are capped at $4,999 within a 365-day period.
When does my Fuel Shout! credit expire?
Any Fuel Shout! credit available to you is valid for one year from the date of the last credit
loaded to your account. To check the expiry date of any your Fuel Shout! credit, check the date of the last Fuel Shout! balance gifted or credited to you in your Transaction History under the My Fuel Shout! tab
If I gift Fuel Shout! credit to someone, how will they know?
When you gift Fuel Shout! credit, the lucky recipient will receive a text message on their
smartphone, which will include a message from you. If the recipient already has the g.a.s. app downloaded on their device, the gifted Fuel Shout! will appear in their g.a.s. app ‘wallet’. If they do not have the g.a.s. app downloaded yet, the recipient is instructed to go to the g.a.s. website (www.gas.kiwi/gas-app) within the text. As soon as they register, the Fuel Shout! credit will appear in their wallet.
